Svetlana CHIGAEVA HEDDAD博士

助理教授

Svetlana joined the School of General Education and Languages of THEi as the English Team Leader in December 2020. Prior to that, she worked at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University where she contributed to the development and coordination of advanced academic language courses and literacy initiatives. She is an experienced teacher, materials writer and curriculum developer.

A native of Russia, Svetlana came to Hong Kong in 2001 to conduct her doctoral research on postgraduate students’ disciplinary reading practices. Literacy development has been her main research interest ever since. In addition, she is passionate about exploring teacher feedback and its impact on student learning, the role of language programmes in applied degree education and teacher professional development.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring Hong Kong and its amazing diversity, reading, dancing, and playing board games.
