Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP)

Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP) for Academic Year 2024/25

SSSDP was launched as a new initiative under the 2014 Policy Address to subsidise about 1,000 students per cohort starting from the 2015/16 academic year to pursue designated full-time locally-accredited self-financing undergraduate programmes in selected disciplines.

It has been announced in the 2017 Policy Address that SSSDP would be regularised in the 2018/19 academic year with an increase in the number of subsidised places to about 3,000 per cohort.

2 Only local students are eligible to be subsidised under SSSDP.

3 With effect from AY2024/25, the Programme will offer two specialisations, namely "Sports Therapy" and "Sports Management".  The "Sports Coaching" specialisation will be developed into a new Sports Coaching degree programme, which is not under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) in AY 2024/25.

4 The programme has been included in the second round of “Pilot Project on the Development of Applied Degree Programmes” of the Education Bureau. The programme will undergo re-accreditation by the HKCAAVQ and the programme title is subject to change.
