The 30th International Horticultural Congress (IHC2018) was held in Istanbul, Turkey between 12-16 August 2018. The motto of IHC2018 was decided as 'Bridging the World through Horticulture'. The IHC2018 brought together more than 1600 participants from 90 countries with different fields of expertise and experience facing challenges in their professional horticultural lives. It was heavily focused on research and innovation and will have training components related to various fields of Horticulture. The Programme Leader of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Horticulture and Landscape Management (BAHLM) of THEi, Dr Allen Zhang, was the only delegate from Hong Kong to join this conference. He gave an oral presentation titled 'Tree Diversity and Their Ecosystem Services of Urban Parks in Hong Kong' on behalf of THEi, which was sponsored by a grant from the Research Grants Council of the HKSAR (Project No.: UGC/IDS25/16). The main objective of the IHC2018 was to provide an excellent platform for scientists, students, consultants, and other professionals with an interest in horticulture. Dr Zhang shared the programme development of BAHLM and the latest research activities in THEi and established collaborative relationships with different academic experts from other countries.
