Three speakers were invited to THEi Chai Wan Campus as guest speakers for Master Lecture Series “Professional career development in Arboriculture and Horticulture” on 14 and 21 April 2021 by Bachelor of Science (Honours) Horticulture, Arboriculture and Landscape Management

 

All four years BSc HALM students were invited to join these three Master Lectures. Dr. Caroline Law, Assistant Professor, delivered a welcome speech to three speakers, and programme leader joined these three master lectures and shared the new industry development to our students with three speakers.

Mr LAI Ka Ming, the Convenor of Promotion and Consultation Subcommittee, Industry Training Advisory Committee (Arboriculture and Horticulture) of Qualification Framework presented with the topic “Specification of Competency Standards under Qualification Framework, and development of greening and landscaping industry” to the students.

 

Ms Alisa CHAN, Manager of Urban Forestry Support Fund Trainee Program, talked about the details of the Trainee Program for cultivating young professionals in arboriculture and tree work personnels.

 

Ms Josephine YANG, Assistant Secretary (Tree Management), Greening, Landscape and Tree Management Section, Development Bureau, Hong Kong SAR Government, talked about the recently launched Registration Scheme for Tree Management Personnel administered by HK Government.

 

All the three talks were informative and gave insight for students to prepare for their professional development of their future career.
