SARP2022 Awards Competition & How-to-Vote

AWARDS COMPETITION

 

Awards are given to the outstanding THEi student researchers of SARP2022.  There are two types of award - Best Poster Award & Best Video Presentation Award.  All the posters and videos submitted by the students are entered into the competition. 

 

All visitors can vote for their favourite posters and video presentation.  The students whose presentations obtain the highest votes are the winners.  

 

BEST POSTER AWARDS

These awards are given to the most outstanding poster(s) from each faculty.  The prizes for each faculty are:

 

Grand Prize (1 winner)

HK$1,000

Merit Prizes (1-2 winners)

HK$500 each

 

BEST VIDEO PRESENTATION AWARDS

These awards are given to the most outstanding video presentations of this year.  The prizes are:

 

Overall Winner (1 winner)

HK$1,500

Merit Prizes (2 winners)

HK$500 each

 

 

VOTING GUIDE

 

WHO CAN VOTE?

Voting is open for ALL who visit the online presentations. Each individual can only vote once

 

WHEN CAN I VOTE?

The voting period is from 01/08/2022 to 10/08/2022

 

HOW DO I VOTE?

On the webpages displaying the faculties’ posters or videos, click the banners at the top/bottom of the webpage or the “Click to Vote...” on the side. You will be directed to the online voting form (connection to the internet is necessary). Complete the form online to cast your votes.

 

For the Best Poster Award, select ONE poster from each faculty. For the Best Video Award, select ONE video from all the videos. Each voter should submit a completed voting form once only. If more than one voting form is submitted by the same individual, all the votes from him/her will be considered as invalid.

 

CAN I CHANGE MY VOTE?

No. You cannot change your vote once you have submitted the voting form.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

 

BEST POSTER AWARD

 

1. Research Quality

  • Use appropriate research methodology to systematically investigate the issue
  • Add new knowledge to the discipline

2. Innovativeness

  • Propose novel ideas to improve existing products/methods/processes
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving

3. Potential Impact to Society

  • Bring potential benefits for many
  • Is relevant for the local industry or society

4. Visual Design

  • Is visually engaging
  • Use a unique design that is well-suited for the topic

 

 

BEST VIDEO PRESENTATION AWARD
  1. Value of the project
  2. Clear presentation with appropriate audio/visual aids
  3. Ability to engage the audience
  4. Appropriate video length with good time control
