Digital media design is one of the strengths in THEi’s advertising programme. Under the theme of digital fabrication, a modern digital creation 12FPS (2015) was curated by associate professor Eddy Hui, programme leader of the THEi’s advertising degree programme. “There is no start and finish; there is only a circulation, and there is only a repetition” was the main concept underpinning this creation and Professor Hui hopes to prompt one’s inner reflection from life. 12FPS was firstly exhibited in K11 in Hong Kong and it is now transited to its second stop exhibiting at The Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

An unusual, yet meaningful, exhibition showcased the unlimited creativity of students with special educational needs (SEN) was held from 27 August to 28 September 2015 at the agnes b. RUE DE MARSEILLE@K11 ART MALL. With the support from agnes b., JOY Media teamed up with THEi’s Advertising students and HKDI to support the art talents to realise their hopes and dreams.

A total 13 student designers from THEi’s Advertising degree programme have joined this event and one of them, Lee Yee Ning, shared her experience,” it was a very rewarding experience. SEN artists are talented individuals and this event has clearly shown this to the public. This couldn’t be successful without the seamless collaboration between our Institutes (THEi & HKDI), JOY Media and agnes b., and of course, the creativity from all of our SEN artists.” These young advertising students spent full effort in supporting the event’s design and promotion, from graphical illustrations, exhibit layouts, to crafting every phrase with heart, aiming to bring out the best of all SEN artists to the visitors.

The exhibition showcased 21 sets of artworks from 3 graduates and 8 winners of the JOY MEDIA SEN STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP from Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI). The exhibit included ink paintings, graphic design, video art and interactive art.
