Dr. Allen ZHANG, programme leader of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Horticulture and Landscape Management, attended the BonaRes 2018 Conference Berlin, Soil as a Sustainable Resource 'Breaking New Ground for Sustainable Management of Soil Functions along the Frontiers of Soil Ecosystem Research' on 26-28 Feb, 2018. The conference was organised by the BonaRes 2018 Conference Organising Committee, Germany, and attracted about 300 participants. Dr. ZHANG gave a poster presentation on 'Impact of Thinning on Physico-chemical Properties, Soil Microorganism Biomass, and Soil Enzyme Activities in Hong Kong Plantation'. The conference brings together researchers from all disciplines of soil science to discuss functionality of soil ecosystems and ways to develop strategies towards sustainable soil management. Dr. ZHANG is keeping in touch with some experts and seeking some opportunities of research collaboration in the future.
