THEi Graduation Ceremony 2020

Use of Personal Data

Updated Arrangements

In view of the increasing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong, the Institute has made the difficult decision to hold the Graduation Ceremony 2020 (“Ceremony”) fully online in three Faculty-based ceremonies as previously scheduled (11th and 12th December 2020).     As mentioned in the email sent to all Graduands on 29 October 2020, broadcast of the Ceremony will be arranged for public viewing and videos will also be published online.  Your attention is drawn to the following “Use of Personal Data” in relation to the arrangements of Ceremony.

Use of Personal Data

  • Names of Graduands will be published in the E-Graduation Booklets to be given to all Graduands together with the Graduation Certificates.  Graduands’ degree classification will not be shown unless they are awarded a First Class Honours / Distinction.
  • During the Ceremonies, the award titles will be announced and names of Graduands will be shown on the screen.
  • Broadcast of the Ceremonies for public viewing and retention will be arranged.
  • THEi will produce and retain videos of the Ceremonies.
  • THEi and our successors, licensees and assigns have the perpetual, world-wide and exclusive right to use and publish the recorded video and or photograph, whether alone or in conjunction with others or with other works, whether in printed, electronic or any other manner or means, whether now known or invented in future.
